(USGovernment-News.Com, August 29, 2013 ) Tulsa, OK – A 4-year-old girl was standing on a curbside with her mother at Park Elementary School on Tuesday afternoon waiting for her siblings to get out of school. The little girl let go of her mother’s hand for a brief second when she was struck and killed by an SUV.
Reports indicated that the SUV dragged the child 10 to 12 feet and pinned her under the vehicle. As this accident occurred after the bell rang, there were dozens of children whom witnessed the horrific incident.
Although the elementary school does have crossing guards, there was nothing that could be done to prevent the accident from occurring. The elementary school will have counselors on hand throughout the week to assist students who need help coping with seeing this incident take place.
